My name is Kyeryoung, and I’m a Korean American woman navigating midlife skin — just like you, most likely, if you found your way here.
How This Started
During the pandemic, I began working from home right as I turned 50. Without a commute or meetings to get ready for, I quietly stopped paying attention to makeup and skincare. About a year later, I really looked in the mirror one day — and saw new wrinkles ringing my neck and a scatter of dark spots across my cheeks that hadn’t been there before.
Not long after, I visited Korea. And I noticed something humbling: my friends and relatives there, some of them older than me, had healthy, glowing, clear skin. They weren’t doing anything extreme or expensive. They simply had a routine, and they never skipped it.
The Olive Young Moment
I go to Korea every year, and every year I walk into Olive Young — the beloved beauty megastore — and feel completely overwhelmed. Walls and walls of serums, essences, sunscreens, all promising something. For years, if my daughter (who knows K-beauty inside and out) wasn’t shopping beside me, I would walk out having bought nothing at all, because I had no idea which products actually suited a woman my age.
That’s when it clicked: this happens to so many women my age. We’re curious about K-beauty. We’ve heard about the gentle routines, the excellent formulas, the fair prices. But we don’t know where to begin — and almost everything online is aimed at women in their twenties.
Why I Built KLifeBridge
So my daughter and I decided to share everything we’ve learned — from searching, from watching hours of dermatologist videos, from reading countless reviews, and from her deep product knowledge. KLifeBridge is the bridge I wish I’d had: honest Korean beauty guidance, translated for midlife skin, by someone who lives in both worlds and is figuring it out right alongside you.
No hype. No impossible ten-step routines. No miracle claims. Just the products, ingredients, and rituals that genuinely help our skin at this beautiful stage of life — explained simply, so you never have to stand overwhelmed in a store again.
